the exhibition / Closing A catalog. In the "centrifuge, a former production facility at AEG, the artist Susanne Neumann realized an installation. The empty hall provides the framework for objects - to return in an industrial context - taken from their original environment. The Hall 14 is the temporary home of items that were once the production of the "white gold". With a large, multi-media installation addresses Neumann disappearance of a porcelain factory in a North Bavarian border town.
Background:
2006 - 2008 were in Waldsassen all the buildings of the porcelain factory Bareuther / Gareis demolished. One of the oldest porcelain factories in Bavaria disappeared from the cityscape. Founded in 1866, the factory
impressed with their production facilities, office buildings and tunnel kilns, the city forest according to no less than the famous baroque architecture. 130 years, people worked and lived from china, "the" white gold. During the demolition work could involve Susanne Neumann still various objects from the buildings. In addition to documents such as old plans, brochures, booklets note of the workers, production lists, electronic devices and furniture, she has kept casting molds and models from destruction.
